Teen Mental Health: A Youth Driven Approach to Wellness

Teen mental health is one of the most pressing issues today, both for parents and the community at large. According to the World Health Organization, up to 20% of adolescents may experience a mental health condition such as anxiety, depression, or behavioral issues, which can significantly affect a young person’s ability to learn, build relationships, and engage in activities.
Join us on Wednesday, September 25, at 7:00pm for a special presentation featuring Duy Nguyen, program manager at allcove Palo Alto. Duy will be presenting an overview of Santa Clara County’s youth driven approach to engage youth in mental health services, and sharing about the services and resources available through the allcove centers.

About our presenter:
Duy Nguyen is the program manager overseeing the allcove Palo Alto center, an integrated youth mental health wellness center that helps young people ages 12-25 access affordable, youth friendly, destigmatizing, and holistic mental health care.
Before working at allcove Palo Alto, Duy supported Santa Clara County’s Behavioral Health Service Department by treating youth at risk, suspected, or confirmed of commercial sexual exploitation. He also supported the county’s initiative to provide easy access for high risk populations to the COVID-19 vaccines by managing two of the county’s mobile vaccine clinics.
Prior to joining Santa Clara County’s BHSD team, Duy worked at a small non-profit organization providing clinical support for youth ages 3-18 and clinical supervision for a team of therapists.
In addition to being a strong advocate for community mental health, Duy enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys cooking, especially making traditional Vietnamese dishes such as Pho, Bun Rieu, Banh Xeo, and Cha Gio.
