Speakers from the GreenTown Los Altos Zero Waste Team will be joined by leading advocates working in plastic waste reduction to discuss:

  • The problem of plastic pollution, its link to climate change, and why recycling is not the answer.
  • Steps you can take to reduce your plastic use for the sake of the environment and your own health.
  • Legislation under consideration -- locally, at the state and federal levels, even internationally -- designed to reduce plastic production at the source and ensure responsible handling of plastic waste.

All participants will receive a comprehensive set of online resources for further learning and sharing with others—plus a chance to win a fun Gift Basket of practical plastic-free items for the home (winner selected at the end of the program).

We hope to see you Thursday, October 14! Learn how you can contribute to the solution of plastic pollution!
