Speakers from the GreenTown Los Altos Zero Waste Team will be joined by leading advocates working in plastic waste reduction to discuss:
- The problem of plastic pollution, its link to climate change, and why recycling is not the answer.
- Steps you can take to reduce your plastic use for the sake of the environment and your own health.
- Legislation under consideration -- locally, at the state and federal levels, even internationally -- designed to reduce plastic production at the source and ensure responsible handling of plastic waste.
All participants will receive a comprehensive set of online resources for further learning and sharing with others—plus a chance to win a fun Gift Basket of practical plastic-free items for the home (winner selected at the end of the program).
