LifeMoves | Haven Family House provides interim shelter and supportive services to 23 families experiencing homelessness in Menlo Park. Haven Family House also serves up to 9 Veteran families every night.
The volunteers will be cleaning up twelve raised garden beds--pulling weeds, tilling soil, putting new top soil down, and planting fall/winter vegetables.
If you have younger children, they can come and help out, but we ask that there be a guardian with them.
Tools:
- Please bring your own gardening gloves.
- Please bring small shovels to plant veggies and flowers. There are large shovels, but no smaller planting shovels. Please label your tools.
- Please bring water and sunscreen.
- Some gardening tools will be available, but if you have a special shovel, rake, etc. that you'd like to bring for your use, that would be great as that will leave other tools available for those who do not have tools.
Finally, Haven House ask that you park on the street (Van Buren) not in the parking lot by the house as that is reserved for residents and those who work there.
